Rears in the front

G'day lads
Quick question for the Grimbo, Moose and anyone else running rears up front. This involves a 4" chassis extension right but what else needs to be moved/ fabbed as a result. The flex looks sweet but how much hassle is it to do for someone of limited fabbin ability (me
).
And do you reckon a Queensland engineer would pass it or just laugh at you?? (Backwards $&*#ing #%^@ers
)
Thanks Guys

just buy a kit to move the rears up the front i reackon it would be a lot easier
i think sam (overkill) can get a kit from trail tough
or he may even have his own?

I have a Calmini s/r kit i'm going to start playing with. I'm looking at running rears up front and then using a set of climax shackles to get the extra length. I was going to look at making it pinable to the chasis though instead of where it pins now.
Can any one find holes in this plan, i have only thought about it in my head and it is no where near as capable or reliable as the zook

Hi MJ,
Because it moves your axel forward you need to move forward / modify all the chassis mounts that interact with the axel
1. Brake line brackets
2. Bump Stops
3. Shock Mounts (you will want longer shocks to get the most travel out of the rear springs anyway so custom mounts will be required anyway).
I think thats about all the grinding / welding you should require.
Cheers

if you want to run RUF you can doit so that the axle only moves forward approximately 10-20mm
damo and I have made up the brackets to do this in the past. maybe damo could get a set of the brackets laser cut for you?????
you will need to run a 1" longer than stock front shackle though.

I'm not sure about this measurement, i will have to have a look at mine and take some measurements. The way I have done it actually moves the axle BACK a bit (which is bad). It IS a fairly simple operation to move it forward i'm just not sure how far forward i should go at this stage.
