D1a mirror cover loose

G'day all,
The black plastic cover around our drivers side mirror is very loose
When I bought it had blue sparkys tape wraped around the flat round bit where it joins to the door . I took it off cos it look like crap
Is there an easy fix like tech screw
or self tapper.....any ideas where to stick it would be good....... YES I MEAN THE SCREW NOT ANYTHING ELSE 
Had a mate say the best way to fix would be to put that expanding foam in there behind the mirror
......ummm I dont think so...Im not even that rough
