I have a SWB GQ. Its on gas. After driving for 15 minutes or so, it SOMETIMES gets this humming noise coming from the rear right hand side. Mainly when stationary. I notiiced this noise a while back, and it continued even when the car engine was off. I didnt think much of it, as it went away. Now, whenever i pull over, the noise has gone!!!!!!!!
Any ideas???

A question for the experts - Humming noise!
A speed camera would have prevented that!

When you say it is on gas, does that mean straight gas or are you duel fuel? If D/F....it maybe.. Follow this story line and don't choke.Harps wrote:I have a SWB GQ. Its on gas. I had a Volvo wagon, Fuel injected with an electric fuel pump in the tank.
However on certain hot days , when the fuel tank was not full, I would get a build up of vapour in the tank that would humm, and it was only noticeable when I stopped and turned off the engine. I could sometimes hit the side of the car near the tank and it would stop or when that did not work I would open the petrol cap and a big whoosh of vapour and air would be expelled. Humming went away.
I thought it was just a Volvo thingy.
