Poles work much better if the poser puts in only one question, it makes it much easier to assess the peoples response.

I answered maybe.
If they are written with a little thought they can be a good way to get a gauge of people's thinking without needing them to write anything cos let's face it, most people cruising / lurking are either lazy or would like to remain anonymous.
If not, waste of time.
