Outer Limits 4x4 Board

Hey Guys,

A quick question for ye. I have a mate at work that's recently upgraded his suspension (lift) on his 1997 TD Cherokee. Its been in there for well over a month now and its been to the flinders ranges and back plus some local wheeling so its had plenty of time to settle. Now... The drivers side is meant to sit slightly higher to compensate for the weight of the driver, however this is not the case on his car. When he is sitting in the vehicle the passenger side sits 30mm higher than the drivers side. The springs are on their correct side as marked.

My question to you is. Jeep's are american cars. Americans drive a vehicle from the Australian Passenger side of the car. Is it possible that the springs have been made and marked to suit the American version of the vehicle? There fore sitting higher on the kerb side to compensate for a left hand drive setup.

I just though I'd ask to see if this is a common occurance before we started pulling things apart.

depending on the suspesion kit, it is quite common for a 'bit' of a lean, but 30mm sounds too much. I would take it back to get it checked out, it could also be the rear leafs that causes the front to sit offside. I had a lean with the right rear leafs sagged too much, took em back got them assessed for faults then re-packed. Havn't had major dramas since.

try disconnecting the front anti roll bar, has the front trackbar been moved?

i "read" somewhere that it sits higher as the shock towers aint exactly the same either side - something to do with the steering clearance

not sure where i read this...
