master cyl brakes

need to change my master cyl for my brakes it's leaking just behind the brake booster, never done it before is it hard??????? or shall i just get brake poeple to do it????? i'm pretty cluey when it come's to backyard mechanics just never done it before so I dont know whats involved any info would be great

It's pretty easy . You will just have to bleed the master cylinder & possibly the brakes.

bleed the MC on the bench! You need to rig up some lod shortened brake lines with plastic hoses so you can pump fluid in and out to get all the air out of the MC. Install full and quickly exchange the pipes. I had mucho trouble getting air out of the MC before I did this, and then all was sweet. Sloping mounted MC are the worst to bleed of all.

yeah cool bleeding the brakes not a problem have done that 100's of times, But when you guy's say that have to bleed the matser is that the same???? meaning the bleeder nipples on the brakes??? my master cyl has no bleeder nipples on it ???????

You generally have to disconnect the brake lines to bleed the master, which if your fitting a new master means the lines will already be disconnected!..

get a $5 one person brake bleeding kit.... not fron supercrap though they charge $15.
I got mine from one of the junk shops (clints warehouse) for less than $5.

arent they just 4 hoses with ball valves in them?

and i dont think they would helpo you with blkeeding the master cylinder, unless you put bleed screws in the brake line holes first.

Thats what I was thinking some dummy lines... my arms arent long enough to block the master cyl ports and pump the brake pedal at the same time.
