You could use a second dual battery kit, or you could put it in parallel with one of your existing batteries, or you could hook it up with a manually activated solenoid/switch.

What do you want to run off it?

buy a bigger altenator to cope with like 300 amp draw from lights alone.... then add winching, i gotta see this, sounds awsome.... i am not running lights myself but i love seeing all the lights people have goin round at night in the bush

Well, it depends on what you want to die first if/when you run out of power.

Also on how much you want to spend.

The cheapest option would probably be to hook the third battery in parallel with the second, with a manual disconnect switch. Then you run the majority of your spotlights off this. When you are winching or the engine's not running, you disconnect this battery manually. The lights will just last as long as they last, maybe not all that long, but you will have full power at the winch.

Then when you aren't winching any more and the engine is running to charge things up, you can reconnect that battery to charge it up again.

And if you aren't winching but you are still running the lights, you just leave the batteries connected so the alternator is keeping the lights running and that battery is okay.

It's a tough question because there are lots of different ways to do it. Which battery runs the winch at the moment? The main or the second one?

Same can be said for the ricers with 5" zorsts & 43925432185 watts of fully sic stereo, with sh!thouse distorted bass that pops all the panel bonds.

Its just his thing ... he may be scared of the dark

keep the lightforces and convert them to hid using the ebay kits  3 times more light for 25% less power thereabouts :)

You could sell off all the narvas and that should mostly pay for the kits. Then you won't need to buy a 3rd battery which isn't really going to fix the problem anyway  Plus you'll probably have more light than you do now........ which is just scary :?

Two alternators & run the third battery & some of the accessories of that system.

the hellas mostly werent facing forward (2 under car rock lights 2 reverse and 2 at a 45deg. on roof) but i pissed them off and got the lightforce hid kits off ebay and the rest went towards the hid bulb kits(recommended) and bought a new battery as the front batt was only thumping out 400 cca instead of 770 then i sorted out the winching to be on both batteries and it works swell thanks to those that helped

You need a stinger alternator a massive 325 amp you will need mega size cables and a v8 engine to run it though.
