Air Cleaner Assembly for Edelbrock Carb

Anyone have any ideas for, or have made an air cleaner assembly for a range rover classic after a Edelbrock/Weber carb conversion. Needs to be somewhat waterproof and have to connect to the snorkel.
This is not mine but similar to this...

I ran an Edelbrock/Weber carb for a while. I used an air filter housing from a local GM v8 and modified the inlet to the housing to suit 3" hose from the snorkle.
These carbs are hopeless on steep inclines. I had to toss mine and replaced it with a quadrajet, which was much better. Used the same air filter setup with the q/jet.

What is better about a quadrajet? Where can I get one that will fit the same manifold?

I run a quadrajet with a GM airfiler housing. There was a small amount of beating of the housing to get it to fit at the front of the carby required. You will need a square to speadbore adaptor. This will increase the height so bonnet clearance may be a problem unless you have a body lift. I cut a section out of the rear of the housing where it goes under the panel in front of the windscreen. quadrajets have very small float chambers and very small primaries as well as a front hung float so flooding on hills is never a problem. They are also very econonical at part throttle becuase of the small primaries.
However - I also have a landcruiser with a 383 chev and a Carter AFB (same as edelbrock/weber design) and that does not have problems on hills either if set up with spring loaded needles and seats.
