I thought the L series had different mounting setups to the RB30. Though I could be wrong.....

Rb30 can be converted to fit but it isnt straight forward...

mate L28 engines are easy as piss to find.... every man and there dog has them.... your not ringing the right places...

they are like the most common 4x4 engine in the patrol series...

just ring 4x4 wreckers or even ppl off this board if you put a wanted up would more than likley have one sitting somewhere....

keep an eye on ebay also ;)

I would buy a second hand vl commodore, scrap the commodore and keep the rb30 motor fuel injected out of it, someone should be able to wire it up you would rekon.

Hoppy11, you live and learn, I have never seen the manual with the remote transfer case, all the manuals I have seen had the standard one. I new the auto used the remote transfer case as I have one. I would be interested to find out how far from centre the crankshaft is to the chassis or how far from centre the output of the gearbox to the chassis.
Can you tell me what year model it was?

And I have owned more than a few ;) - all the L28 wagons I have owned have the divorced transfer in them.... P40 has the normal mated sytle like the diesel etc... it makes for easy engine swaps and what have you though...
