Sparkys' opinions needed

Have just spent a while searching through old threads in regards to dual battery setups...but more importantly what battery to use for what. There was one good thread I found that has basically convinced me to set mine up the way I will describe in a minute....

Just after some reassurance really from those in the know, so all is good!

I have a crank battery and a deep cycle battery...I now plan on using the crank battery for cranking (obviously) and running the winch (warn 8000lb lowmount). With all other accessories running off the aux (deep cycle) battery.

I have a REDARC isolator/solenoid all ready to go, and the over ride function will be setup (to use both batteries to assist starting if needed).

Is this the best way to go...the winch isnt something that gets used alot...but I dont want dramas (on the electrical side of things) when I do use it.

AGM I think is the go, wet deep cycles take too long to recharge properly and require decent regulation to keep them alive to be cost effective.

Some good links in there... Well worth reading.

That sounds alright unless some of the "other accessories" are drawing serious current, which would be bad for the deep cycle battery.
