93 toyota 4 runner headgasket .

i have just had the heads taken off my v6 motor as the head gasket had blown, as i had nothing but steam pouring out of my tailpipe.
i took it in to be repaired but now they say it has a bent conrod because #1 pot had filled up with water. what i would like to know is how can they tell if the conrod and piston are still in the motor.

If the rod is bent the piston will have a lower "top dead centre" then the other pistons because the bent rod will make it sit lower

These also have a problem with the block surface and often need machining when a head gasket goes.

A mate's v6 runner blew the heads at 200kays.
From what i've heard it's not uncommon to go at 100kays.
May be time for a conversion?
