Detroit Unlocker!!

Post by Jenko75 »

I have a detroit locker in the rear of my landcruiser and it is disengaging under load alot when taking off. Can any one tell me if this is a common problem or maybe just as simple as a broken spring or something?

what kind of detroit?

by 'disengaging' do you mean it is unlocking one wheel, or losing all drive? unlokcing one wheel is normal if you have unequal tyre sizes/pressures, losing all drive, something is definitely wrong, but to diagnose it further would require some knowledge of what kind it is.

cheers

not sure what kind its about 5 years old got it 2nd hand, maybe tyre pressure is uneven but would it need to be a massive difference in tyre pressure? or just a few psi? only one side unlocking also.
