I have a waeco ccf45 which is a discontinued size of fridge and I need a transit bag for it. Problem is no one has any left in stock and Waeco don't make em anymore I really need one to stop the fridge getting scratched and to provide some useful tie down points cause the fridge itself just has recessed handles.
Who could make something like that I don't even know what kind of material is used I'm going to have to get one custom made by the sounds.
there was a guy on ebay making custom canvas goods for 4WD - i.e wheel covers, stove bags, roof bags, etc His ebay ads claimed that he could make anything to order.

G'day all, Bloke on Ebay is www.infrontcampinggear.com.au I bought a BBQ bag from him & the quality is good. He advertises that he can make anything from measurements supplied. Worth emailing him and asking about using an insulation layer with canvas perhaps. Hope this helps.

hey mick, once you find a canvas place or motor trimmer to make a canvas bag, get it made a few inches bigger all round and head to clarke rubber, they have insulation foam by the metre in 2 thicknesses, half and one inch from memory (i think). One side has a heavy duty reinforced foil on it to reflect the heat.
I lined my engel bag with it, and it made a huge difference. Without the foam if you put your hand inside the bag , the surface of the fridge didnt feel cold, with the foam in place the sides of the fridge are real cold, on the outer foil side of the foam, its around ambient temp. So the engel bag does sweet FA for insulation, just good for knocks.
I think the foam sheet is about $40 per metre for the one inch.

I contacted the company called michelle's sacs like currentlyoffline posted above but they were asking something like $400 or more for the sac which I thought was nuts !!
As for tie downs on the fridge, I used to use those rubber tie downs with the hooks on either end, and had a handle either side of where it was mounted in my rear storage unit, just hooked it over and it didn't move. I know waeco did make a tie down system for that model that held it around the base, have you tried them ?

hey Dan good to hear from you again I trust the trip back was ok The fridge is going great I bought a proper power supply and use your home made one for back up at the gf's house.
I've seen the prices on some of the custom ones yeah....... ouch Not too worried about tying it down that's easy enough but tie downs on a bag would be good. I'm more interested in insulating it more so it works less and can go longer on my dual battery setup and stopping it getting too much more scratched
I wound up buying a waeco bag for a cf50 at BCF today. It had the power point, control and vent parts in all the right places but of course was a bit big in all 3 dimensions by about an inch I'll be filling the gaps with the foam stuff from Clark Rubber like Bradley suggested.......... thanks mate
I was just there to see if the much cheaper 35l bag would just fit. It was 30mm too short by the Waeco website but I thought I'd try anyway.
The tool at BCF bought over the 50l bag and I said to him, wrong one mate too big. He wouldn't have it it was the 35l bag no convincing him otherwise......... so I paid the 35l bag price for the 50l bag which actually fit really well with room for insulation. What a knob

Well he does work for spotlight / supercheap / bcf, so with their current industrial relations practices, he may not be a knob, just another shafted worker..
