hi a mate of mine want to put a v8 into his 1984 4runner, he is thinking a Holden 253 or similar, is this a straight forward conversion and easily engineered? Or are emission laws going to give him grief? The old 2.4 diesel died so he needs to do something soon.

Any help would be good guys
Cheers Browny

A 253 is better then a stuffed 2.4.

Would need straight gas unless you can get a motor that is from 84 or newer. Other then that fairly straight forward.

You would be better off with a V6 commodore motor
