Hi , i just fitted a new clutch to my NH Pajero and now it jerks every time i take off and even into second as i release the clutch, also noticed the pedal feels much lighter......
Anyone got any ideas as to wat might be causing it?
Thanks :?

Define jerks, you cant let it out progressively, no friction, no friction and then just grabs, or the clutch shudders as you release it??

If its the latter, been a new clutch its most likely that you bent the spline of the clutch plate when installing the gear box, so not having it level when you were rockin it in, not having the spline lined up properly etc. You may have overgreased something, perhaps didnt clean the new pressure plate from its 'anti rust' stuff (assuming it was a kit).

Basically there are normally 2 causes, bent plate / spline or contamination, be it from the gear main, input shaft, not cleaned properly, excessive grease etc.

Bit more info....

what i meant was that you let the clutch out and as you accelerate away it jerks a few times until you pick up speed, then you change into second, and let out the clutch fully and it does it again as you start to accelerate...after that its ok .......as you go up the range......3....4..........5

A new clutch is always lighter, they are designed to apply more pressure to a wearing clutch plate, gradually increasing clamping force.
Sounds like electrical miss to me, check you leads and cap

Agreed, sounds unrelated to your clutch...
