air tank

Hi guys about to go looking for the bits ab peices i need for an OBA setup.

Can anyone tell me if the Kmart arlec portable air tanks okay to use as my only concern is there is only on tap in the tank and was wondering if sutible for what is required for an OBA setup.

They are OK, bit big maybe, but if you have the space, then they are a good start. How will you power it up? I used an old water extinguisher, longer and more slender. Extinguishers are good, you can get almost any size to suit the space available.

search around the scrap yards for a oxy acetlyn tanks
there long and slender , and thee pressure rated
and are able to be tested regulary

There good but to heavy stick with the fire extingisher

thanks guys ended up passing a truck wreckers on the way and stoped in got one from there.

Now off to get other bits and pieces

that tank you got Dwayne, how much was it and what dimensions, does it have a drain valve? Wheres the wrecker cos I live in similar area to you.

Andrew the tank is about 400mmx200mm round without including the connections on the end.
I picked up from victorian truck wreckers on cooper st off sydney road heading towards epping for 20 dollars.
