I am thinking ,mine is fugged, But im unsure how to tell. I dan move the gearbox up and down a few mm with 1 hand. My cruise control sensor used to be 3mm or so clear of the tailshaft and now its rubbing.
Is this bad ?
Its on a 90 model 4runner . I have just replacd my rear centre due to pinion leaking and noticed that 4 locking plates on the bolts of the hemisphere are now nolonger in existance.
Any ideas ?

the best way to tell is.... IF you cant see any splits in the rubber at all on visual inspection... and the bolts are all tight...
get a trolley jack under the gearbox or t case and put abit of upward pressure on it... not too much.... just enough to stretch the rubber mount a little so that you can see if its worn / cracked / split / or come away from the metal.....
again if its persished or oil soaked it would loose its tension over time as well....

Yeah i think it has lost its tension, there more oil under it than whats in kuwait.
Took it for a hoon up the M4 20 mins ago and The vibration is still there. It sems to be RPM related at 3100 rpm in 4th. In 3rd its Hardly noticable and i Need a bigger hill for 5th as its got a 4.3 in it till i get my other centre rebuilt again. the new rear centre helped, Its a lot quieter in the cab now.
Cheers and thanx screwy

grease both uni joints and also the tailshaft slip joint as well mate as this could be half your vibration issue...
no wuckers mate, anytime
