Hi

I have asked before about putting my Diesel in my gas 4x4 ( both Toyota)

I now need a little help with the diesel engine .

Is is low on power (I have had one before so I have some idea how it should run-I think) and smokes under load I am running new fule but it sat for awhile -a long while <G>

and it smokes under no load full and not so full throttle! and misses.

But it starts first crank even after sitting for two weeks.

1981 with 74,000 miles - I have no idea if timing belt has been changed but even if it has I should do it again since it sat so long (years) - I think

I live in Sacrramento CA any Idea where I can get parts? and should I take out the injectors to be cleaned ?

Thanks

Hi chuck .Starting 1st crank and the fact its only done 74 k means that the engine is still good. When diesels sit aound for a long time they often get a type of algea that live in diesel fuel systems. It gets burnt with the fuel and leaves a coating on the injectors. You can get additives to run through it which get rid of it fairly well.Clean or replace the injectors if budget permits after the fuel system has been cleaned out.If your not sure how long since the belt been done might a good time now as havoc will rule if it breaks. For parts info try the www.cruizer.com forum .There is a few american and canadians there who have diesel LC .Im assuming its a 3b. correct?
