Is there such model as a 79 series? The compliance plate on my dad's truck says 79, however when i was in toyota parts a few weeks ago they said no such thing existed. What's going on? Did we buy a prototype
BTW it's a 50th annaversary ute.

As far as I'm aware, yep the 79 is the new troopy. My mate just bought one.

CORRECTION the 79 series is both the tray back and the troopy the "bluey" was the limited edition 79 series tray back too and was the first one on the market so ive been told

My housemate has a 79 series Toyota landcruiser utility. It exists, coil front leaf rear.

The seventy eight is the troopy and the seventy nine is the trayback.

ive seen both the 78 and 79 series in action and i recon my front end which is leaf sprung... has heaps more flex then the 78 and 79 series front end

yes jake the coils are for ride comfort, the leaf springs do flex better.
