i am pretty sure i am looking at a new head so i thought if i am putting a new one i might as well put a spicy one on but i don't if u can buy one already done or u have to get it like custom done.

Why do you say this? If it is *that* rooted then your engine is probably toast too. Pull the head off and check it out before jumping to conclusions.

Makes sense to a certain degree, but unless you are going crazy on the engine you are probably better off with just a reco head. IMO there is limited benefit in "hopping up" the 1.3

You can buy reco heads exchange or outright, or get yours reco'd.

EDIT: don't worry about getting it "cnc'd"

If you are thinking of a bit of a port job, have a think first. You can actually lose power by increasing chambers.

ive just had the head on my 1.3 fully reco'd. new valves, stem seals, a small skimm of the face and reground cam. cost me $350just for the head and about $100 for other stuff to put it back on myself. and i can hardly feel any difference. maybee it will be better when i put extractors on it and get the weber dyno tuned as it doesnt breathe that good ATM.

if ya gonna do alot of head worx then you need the accessories to make it worth while. Extractors at a miniumum

U can go 1.6 exhaust valves in the 1.3 head also.

i took my head of a few weeks ago and put a new head gasket in cause it was using heaps of water. but it is starting to leak again so i guess there was a crack i couldn't see. so i guess i am looking at the options. ie put reco head back in or put one in with porting and the valves but that is getting expensive i can get a 1.6 for 1000 but it has done 120000km. so undecided.

go the 1.6 for sure. but you will need to engineer it

hey nicbeer i have know idea what the specs are as a good mate got it all done for me. i just filled out a data sheet of where i wanted the power to come in, what carby i was running , gearing, tyres and revs at 60kh-80km-100km/h.It is a bit better than b4 but still needs extractors and then a dyno tune for the weber.
