your motor is a 22R not 22p.
turbocharging a carbureted motor is expensive and tricky, and unless you spend even more on internal modifications (lower compression, heavy duty pistons, o-ring thedeck etc) then power gains are minimal - around 30% would be the best you could hope for. Probably the cheapest and easiest way to do it would be to convert the motor to EFI then turbo it. you can get all the EFI gear off a RA60 celica, you need the manifold, some other plumbing bits and pieces, fuel pump etc and of course all the sensors, wiring harness and computer. can probably be done for $500 - $1000 if you have some electrical skill and patience. then you will need to find a turbo and manifold; toyota did sell a turbo version of your motor (22RE-T) so you could probably source a manifold from toyota but it would be $$$. then you need a turbo ($500ish for a second hand unit), and plumbing, and at a minimum a rising rate fuel pressure regulator to keep the mixture reasonable, and cross your fingers that it doesn't blow your motor up.
if you just want a power upgrade, look into a commodore V6 conversion, cheaper, easier and more reliable than turbocharging your old donk.
