Outer Limits 4x4 Board

On my 2.8L hilux I have put DTS turbo on it and i notice now when travelling up long hills or up ranges on the highway it gets about a needle thickness over half i was wondering if anyone else has had this problem or know how to fix it. I normally sits at about a quarter around town driving.

This isn't really a problem as such. It is quite normal for diesels having been turboed for them to run hotter than normal when climbing hills.

Your cooling system is designed to remove only so much heat. The fact that your car now develops more horsepower means that it will also develop more heat.

If it becomes a problem that it starts overheating (boiling or excessive overflow from the cooling system), you can either wind down the boost and fuel, or decrease your fuel settings. Remember, diesels run hotter when running rich. Your diesel may have been overfuelled to accomodate its better breathing ability.

Intercooling may also help. It will reduce a certain level of recirculating heat going back into the engine.
