I have a problem with the lights of my 80. when you turn them on the dash lights come on but the head lights don't. The high beam indicator on the dash also stays on all the time wether or not the high beam has been turned on by the indicator stick however the high beam headlights staff off as well.
I have checked all the plugs I can find and and my fuses all seem to be good ( Checked with multimeter) just after a couple of clues as to what else to check before I do something drastic like call a auto sparky.
Cheers
Chucky

Re: 80 series lights
Well, seeing as you've checked the connections, could the headlight relay be faulty? possibly corroded inside?Chucky wrote:I have a problem with the lights of my 80. when you turn them on the dash lights come on but the head lights don't. Chucky,
As toy80 has said check your headlight relay if diesel it will be in the black box on the passenger side or your enginge bay, should be a reddy brown top.
I had a simialr problem where head lights would not work. After tracing circuits, testing I eventually tracked it down to a faulty switch in the actual combination stalk (the one that turns on headlights and indicators). had to replace the entire thing including the wiper controls (all one piece). The good thing was I have a poverty pack and I got a GXL one so I ended up with variable initment wipers and they just plug straight into the exisiting wiring loom.
