I am going to move my front axle forward as far as i can
for sump clearance, when i fit crossover steering.
Hoping for about 4.5" forward
Just wanting to know if there are any negatives to running this set up?

Hey ive moved mine forward 3" and fitted histeer (superiors setup not snakes), removed the standard tierod and put a rockrod in front - from superior too - and moved the damper up to the top tierod, welded mount on chassis.
Used rear leaves in front and removed the load leaves, flexes great!
It feels abit like a boat when u hit bumps on the road though, but i have to get my caster and camber checked out, i think that could be the problem...or the fact its so soft...??
Has any one else got any ideas what may be causing that?
Cheers

Maybe your shocks?
Yeah i will be putting rears up front also, not sure how many leaves i will need in spring packs as i have v6 commodore.
did you do dropped hangers as well?
Can't wait to finish my project to start wheeling :P

Yeah i got new, longer shocks when i did the conversion so i know they are ok. Toe in/out could have alot to do with it to.
Im just using the skinnier 4 leaves from the standard rear pack, its very soft but flexes great. Ive dropped the front hanger heaps... about 5" from standard. Im trying to keep the truck as low as possible but i had a few probs with the top tierod hitting the chassis n sump. thats why the hangers have been dropped so far.
I jus gotta cover the rubber then its off to the engineer!! woo hoo

Cheers Justin

Gotta weld in my 2" dropped hangers on the front,
then source some 2" dropped shackles for the front also.
Anybody know a good place to get shackles?
What shocks you running?
The reason i moved axle forward so much was for sump
clearance ;)
Are you using the welded double arm?

cheers

Im running rancho 99036's - 914mm ext, 537mm comp.
Using the welded double arm from superior, i bought one from another "4x4 specalists" and it was a complete waste of $250 it wasnt even welded properly and it didnt fit. Go superior.
HOw are u gunna get the 5" forward? Custom leaves or move the front hanger forward?

Cheers Justin

Hey old yella,

How do u got with the 38s hitting leaves on full lock? - is it still leaves?
Do u run wheel spacers? whats the offset of ur rims?

Was tossing up between the welded arm or the cast arm from ORI.
Need the TRE coming in from under the top arm, not in from the top.
Superior said they bend the top arm flat to gain the clearance.
Will this effect the strength?
A mate has one of these so will check it out.
will get 4.5" forward with 2" with rears up front, 1.5" with dropped
hanger mounted forwards, and the rest with spring mount location.

cheers

Yes my Lux is still leaves, I run rears up front, with a 2" dropped cross member and banana shackles.
I have a welded double flipped arm and rock rods from Overkill which I'm more than happy with. The arm still uses the studs and cone washers instead of bolts, which is far better than most welded arms.
I run a wide track kit as well with the 38.5" TSL SX
I usually run them with spacers,
but the front is fine to run without them.

cheers Rob

Was looking at ABT/M&M arms. Are happy with them?
Do they have a bend where the TRE goes in or are they flat?
Sorry for all the questions, just like to find out as much as i can :)
