LPG system consumption

Hey all. I got a 1989 Ford Maverick SWB 4.2L Petrol. I love my car, but am considering changing it to LPG to try and save a bit of money on fuel. Just wondering what sort of consumption people are getting out of a straight LPG system. Also how have people got their system setup...have you had to put the tank behind the backseat. And lastly the rough estimate of how much people have spent on the conversion. Thanks

There is heaps on this topic allready posted, try search "LPG". As for where poeple mount the tank, generally under the rear 85L useable, shorties have limited space in the cabin anyway, I prefer havinng dual fuel simply for range, you can tune your car for gas and just accept that the 2% of time you will switch to petrol it will run like shi*t. And besides this is only once a week for about 60sec to keep the carby seals and gaskets wet, or while looking for a servo to fill up with gas.
With gas i find I can run up to 15deg advance at idle, but for this you have to have premium in the fuel tank or it pings on load. NGK LPG sparkplugs gapped down a beesdick, LPG compatible leads and extended rotorbutton, pacemaker headers and it goes well even for an auto.
Hope this helps.
GOOD LUCK getting anyone to squeeze your car in for a conversion though, they are flat out even servicing.
