I got a set of Honda Integra seats at the right price and want to know the best way to get them fitted into the lux.

The base width and length on the hilux seats is longer and wider than the base on the honda seats.

Is it easier to bolt a full steel plate (5mm) directly to the bottom of the seats then bolt the hilux runners to this?

The yellow circles are the holes in the seat and the blue lines are roughly where the hilux runners need to be

Can't say what is best for your situation, but when I swapped my seats (mod plated) I was told that if you are not using the original seat mounts (captive nuts) in the floor, you need to fit 75x75x3 mm plates under each mount location.

You also need to use Class 8.8 bolts for all mounts.

To work out the best option for your case it is probably best to call the engineer you are going to to see what they will be happiest with.

I realise that. That is why I suggested contacting an engineer to see what method they would be happiest with. A 5mm flat steel plate across the whole base of the seat would add a fair bit of weight.

Looks like a couple of lenghts of 50/ 75mm wide by 6mm strips should bridge both sets of bolt holes.

Sell them and get WRX seats

Engineer I spoke to about my seats wanted 3mm flat steel
plate or 5mm ally plate across the bottom of the seats as a minimum.

I had a similar thing in my Hilux, I had an engineer mate make up some new rails by moving the runners out about an inch, using solid steel.



Blue line is the origional mounts on the seat, you can see i put some cross bar in and bolted the runners to this, made it heaps stronger.




Had them in the truck for 2.5 years and never had a problem, I didn't get them mod plated because I was told if you use the same runners and high tensile bolts etc you don't need to.

Loanrangie is on the mark, flat bar is probably the easist option are should be engineered no worries. Make sure you use hi tensile bolts if you're not using the originals.

How's the height difference between the two seats, if the new ones have to come up you could use RHS rather then Flat bar.

Did mine a while back, first one in Isa, second in Bris.
