Rocky models

Post by Podge »

Hi guys, at present I am putting together a database on aftermarket replacement parts for 4WD's for an on-line shop and am struggling on the model releases of Rocky's. The balance of the Daihatsu range is easy, but the Rocky is one of the hardest vehicles to get info on in regards to model release dates. I've done a search but have come up trumps, so it is my hope that a Daihatsu expert maybe on this board and can shed some light.

I've got questions like:
-The F73/78 was released in 93-?, was the F73 a SWB and the F78 a LWB?
-What were the release and finish dates on the F70/75/77/80/85/87 (between 84-93) and when were updates made etc?

Any help will be appreciated.

   They have aftermarket parts for Rocky's    :D

Love to help, but all I (think) I know is that F75 came out in 1984. No idea on month though.

I know the F78/F73 came out in August 1993. This is the IFS/coil model which changed from all round leaf suspension.

These models are where there is very little info to go on. By what I can gather the F78 is a LWB with IFS and coil suspension?? The F73 is a SWB?? but am unsure as to what suspension is under it IFS with coils in the rear or still live axle front and rear with leaves??

I appreciate those trying to help out.

The F73 is a SWB Model, as denoted by the '3'. Whereas the F78 is LWB. The 7 denotes 2.8L diesel engine.

And yes, the F73 has IFS and rear coil suspension.

OK, kewl. That's some info I'll store for future reference.

Thanks again.
