Heater Hassles.

Hey all,

Ive noticed in both mine and some other sierras, that the heater wont actually 'work' unless it is switched on demister, or leg warmer and demister. If i try to select it to come through the face vents all i get is cold (normal) air -not good on a chilly morning.

Is this common among the zooks?

Cheers
Jayden

No they're all clear. The amount of air that comes out is fine, its just that its not hot. I can change the thermostat from cold to hot and the temperature of the air does not change. Like i mentioned, this is about the 3rd zook i found this occurred in.

Its normal, the face vents only get cold air, but you can recycle it, so its less cold. Only feet and demister get warm air on mine.
Sometimes the cables fall off, so not all controls work.

My car doesn't have a heater :(

The engine conversion is the likely suspect here.

My bitchcar, I mean Sierra, only gets cold air on all settings bar the feet/demister- I thought it was abnormal too, however, I realised it was a zook, not a pimp-mobile and accepted it. :D My 2c...

You cannot get hot air ou of sierra face vents.

Many cars have no ability to put hot air out of the face vents. It is mostly a safety feature that prevents fused eyelids and drowsyness.

Many European cars don't allow hot air on face vents. - my Gwagen is an example. I don't even have recirculate, only on or off.

geez be grateful it works =) mine shat itself when a pile of sand went into the vents on the bonnet, blew into my face and then the bugger jittered and just died forever...

that was 4 years ago - and without the fan working, the heat still comes up through the demister and footwells, but you gotta be doing 60+km/hr before it works... lol

Grrrr, my fan just stopped working now. Trying to demist a windscreen is fawking hard without it.

I carry a small $3 windscreen squeegie thing in the zook, good for demisting rear and side windows, and defrosting the outsides.
Also good for mud on either side of windscreen :)

You can't get hot air from the front vents in a sierra, only hot air goes to the demister or the legs.

It is normal, if you check the selector you will find those are the only positions marked with an orange or red mark to indicate the hot air capability.
