Gutless has done it, Sam Keck (overkill eng) had done it before, plenty of others. There has been a bit of discusion bout it before. IMHO it ruins the balance of a zook, as these heavy lump of cast iron is suddnely over the front end.

Yeah been there done that. And have never recommended that anyone else try it. Unless you can get your hands on the NEW 3.6 alloytec V6, don't bother. You will never be able to drive it over 40kph again unless you move the axle forward atleast 8", and that means alot of gaurd chopping in the front end.
Regardless of the balance issues, you are still fitting an old, tired technology. The 3.8 cast iron lump only makes 125Kw and 300Nm, but its still enough to destroy zook diffs, so you will have to change these too.
If you want a challenge, go buy a 1.8L suzuki lgnis engine (M18a) and a jimny gearbox and make that fit. almost 100kw and 1/3 the wieght.

IMHO this is a totally pointless conversion that ruins the point of a suzuki. If you want a nose heavy car with no room in it buy a hilux. Then you get a spoa and hilux diffs too for nothing
What do I know though.... I think that 660cc sierras are cool
I like the M18 idea a lot ... Might overwork a Jimny auto though

im 3/4s of the way through it now motor runs just finishing up pannel work and making a new sump but my car is a comp come weekend buggy type vehicle running hilux diffs front diff is pushed forward to end of chassis running coils and triangulated 4 link hopping it will all be worth it

this wouldnt happen to be the zook rock crawler that 4WD Monthly featured a while ago is it???

We have done 2 so far one was a VS the other a VN

Both trucks were done without the use of a body lift but there was a fair amount of tunnel enlarging.
