pyrometer

on a 4.2 turbo where is the best place to put the probe for the pyrometer, before the turbo, and if so where? Or in the threaded fitting in the dump pipe.

Really the only place it will work correctly.....

Best before the turbo as there is a huge heat loss through the turbo
which will give a lower reading and give you a bum steer at the gauge

Thats the problem most people have` And end up sticking it after the turbo
including myself which is fine if you rember ifs not correct and and don`t go overboard on the fuel

thanks for reply. I read somewhere that the max temp on the dump pipe side is 200c below other side. this would be about 530c then.

I am running 10psi boost now - would be the appropriate step up for fuel?
and how is this done
