Per LN60 Lux,

Would appreciate any advice on how to make progress re removal of an Alan key head AVN locking hub cover bolt, with a stuffed key head.

Bloody typical, all the other bolts were a piece of the proverbial, the last one the head was shagged to start with, the alan key wont grip, and next key size up doesn't look like fitting.

BUGGER!

You might have to resort to an old screwdriver and some gentle persuasion with a highly specialised tool called a BFH.
Drive the screwy in there and turn it with some multigrips. Sounds a bit heavy handed, sounds like the head's gone anyway...

tried an easyout? might need to grind the end of the easyout so it fits tightly in the hex (now round) head of bolt.

or drill with 8mm drill bit, only have to go deep enough to make the head pop off, take the locking hub off then the leftovers of the bolt should be easy to remove, should only be finger tight after the ead comes off.

or a slightly too large torx bit can be hammered in there, if you can get this to work you can sort of save the bolt if you don't have another one lying around.

cheers
