how to tell what model, spec lvl

Post by wrksux »

Ive had a look at a GQ the other day that the guy rekons is a TI but it doesnt have carpet only vinyl floormatts like in a DX, but power windows :? so would there be anything on the VIN plate or anywhere else to see what it actually is.

Cheers

Ring Nissan and ask them the spec level of the VIN. I think there is someone on here that can decode the VIN, just cant remember who.

My Ti also has power mirrors/aerial, leather seats, rear swaybar disconnect, faux woodgrain, and yes, carpet.

what year is it?
My 89 GQ ST had cloth seats, carpet on the floor, and thats about it, for niceties.

My 92 GQ series 2 ST has velour seats, carpet, elec windows and mirrors, central locking. The only differences i can see is that it doesn't have the leather trim on the dash, and seats, and no crappy woodgrain plastic. The bumpers are silver as well, not chrome, like a TI.

I guess the easy way to do it would be to swap some doors from a Ti on and then just wire them up. Could probably save a bit of mucking around mounting regulators, motors, switches etc.

yeah its simple to swap the doors over, as long as theya re the same colour you wouldn't know

TI have the woodgrain interior too.

If it is a TI it might have been changed from carpet to vinal flooring for ease of cleaning, i am going to do that to my patrol soon, as i go out in alot of mud. might as well get something that allows me to wash it easy. put hte carpet in some bags and store it
