Chassis swap vs body swap

Post by chimpboy »

Hypothetically, if you were (say) swapping an MQ body onto a GQ chassis and drivetrain, would this be difficult to engineer because it's an older body, or easier to engineer because it's a newer chassis?

By "engineer" I mean get it certified.

Would you end up registering an MQ with a newer chassis or a GQ with an older body?
This is not legal advice.

in NSW i was told:::::::::::::

if putting a MQ body onto a GQ chassis, you would have to go through the complete ADR list for the chassis, and change evrything to meet requirements, which could include, seatbelts, windows, dash, dash lighting, mirrors, and so forth,

it woulde be just as easy to by a GQ in my opinion, and i actually did,
