does any body know the cause of all my gauges going to zero...when i use the blinker all my gauges zero out and then come back online ..could this be an alternator related problem as some times when this happens it only measurs half of the reading that it should but it does usually rectify its self also on wet days my alternator doest charge at full capacity for a short period of time i have a 85 mk patrol with a L24 engine with 70 amp alt

I agree, they break down where the cable goes into the crimp. You could check this using a jumper lead from the negative post on the battery, connected to the chassis/bodymickyd555 wrote:replace the earth strap from battery to chassis, the indicator sounds as though it may be earthing through the fuel tank.

Re: RWFG
Try the jumper lead trick, and see what happens, and check the battery earth cable. A poor earth, can have lots of symptoms.rockrover wrote:My head lights and spotties went out the other night also could this have been because of the same problem?
