biggest leaf spring bush

Post by modman »

you guys may be able to help here?
i am going to have some custom main leaves made and want the largest eye bush available- 50-60mmwould be nice
i don't want orbit eyes yet, because of the expense.
someone told me xp rear bushs are large, but they are not long enough(50mm diameter x 38mm long)
any ideas you leaf freaks :? :?

Modman,

I'm assuming that by orbital eyes you are meaning something like this:

http://www.bigballsoffroad.com/prod484.htm

They are $75 each, which you're right - isn't as cheap as chips, but perhaps spending $20 bucks or so on finding larger bushes is not worthwhile when that would put you 25% of the way to owning what you want to end up with anyways?

I presume you are getting springs custom made to fit the orbital bushes - why not use your existing springs for a little bit longer and save that dough sooner?

Just a thought.

greg, custom leaves for the orbital eyes are more expensive than the customs i want made.
i'm doing welding and metal fabrication at tafe and intend eventually to make my own 5 link front and a frame rear.
therefore i don't want to go down the road with 4 orbital eyes, custom leaves, maybe even drop shackles.
i can get custom length 50mm eye main leaves for $100 each
