Gday
The FJ80 front diff uses a lux centre, the only thing better is the driveshaft angle.
The 80 also has the crossover steering arm behind the diff. Bigger brakes will be an advantage, as will coil springs if you go that way.

What are Longs? When you ask about strength, do you mean the diff housings?

the only advantage i see is the width, brace the diff you have now and call it sweet till she bends, i also have a couple of front housings ben.

1 80 and 2 hilux.

The FJ80 doesnt run a hilux centre. The only similarity to the pair is the hemisphere, bearings and the diameter of the crown wheel.

Longs wont fit int o a 80 diff, part of the extra length in an 80 is on the stub axle of the cv.

But to answer your question, it wouldn`t be any stronger the only differance would be the width.

i can make you up a set of hi steer arms for the 80 diff.

We are putting an 80 diff in gonads zook and will be making a set of hi steer arms for it
