Intermittent Idle Problem

Post by Eff »

I seem to have issues with my 86 sierra (standard carb) every now and again it will idle very low (approx 200-300rpm) sometimes with normal driving it will kick back to normal idle speed but not often. If it stalls and i go to restart the engine it works fine again back to normal idle. The Carb was recently rebuilt and this is only happened recently after. Have you guys got any idea on what it could be?

Thanx

perhaps you need to change your fuel filter. Its also a good idea to run a second fuel filter between the fuel pump and carb.

Yep done that too (old filter was pretty clean). Someone mentioned to me that it maybe a vacume leak problem but didnt say what could be doing it.
