i have a 2.0l v6 vit and it has one noisey tappet that quietens down once vehicle is at operating temp(a good 5kms)
Are the tappets a shim type adjustment,or are they hydrolic?,maybe i could remove them clean in petrol perhaps?(like the ealy gsr lancers with their tappet issues)
As i have noticed if vehicle not driven for a week it has a very rough idle for about 30 secs until oil pressure is up.vehicle has 200000kms on it 20,000 are mine and it get an oil flush treatment every change.
any help would be appreciated, thanks Scott

there hyd lifters man, usually if there is a lifter problem it's due to lack of oil changes and poor quality oil,

also another thing to check is the oil pressure you may have an oil pump problem

next time you do an oil change run some nulon enginge flush through the motor first.then drain and use castrol full synthetic and 1 litre moreys oil stabiliser.let me know how you go.
