I just got one of these and all i can say is i am extremely impressed. Had it in my glove box and it was tracking 11-12 satelites all night the other night, makes every gps receiver ive ever used look like garbage.

"can be used with virtually all mapping and street directory applicaations using the NMEA protocol"

Only if your phone has compatible mapping software installed on it. I'm yet to see a phone with this type of capability.. but I'm sure its out there somewhere.. lol

This type of GPS is mostly used with Laptops. Although these dongles are fairly cheap, you must remember you need software to run it. The software is usually a bit dearer than the unit.... lol
