Post by Gilbert »

What transmission ?

Sounds like it is going into over drive or the torque converter is locking up and then as your speed drops it unlocks

bounce shift 3rd and 4rt gear

Post by Gilbert »

My engine is 2.8 diesel 4m40. Maybe you were kinda right most of the time the O/D switch is ON . but i only encounter it on speed of 70 to 80 kms speed. before when i got it, it only shift to 4rt gear after it reach 80 kms. now even though i am still at 75 there times that is shift premature. But something i also notice if i step on my gas pedal gradually and straight till it reach 80 the boucing shift wont happen it operates smooth like it was before. it only happens when it shift from 4rth gear at 70 kms earlier before it reach 80 kms. does this means my over drive has problem?? or maybe ATF fluid needs replacement ?? Many thanks

the bouceshift happens when it shift 4rth gear at 70 kms before it reach 80 it goes back to 3rd and 4th gear till it reach 80 thats the time it wil stay on 4rth gear ...

Why dont you just engage O/D once over 80km/h then?

Could be something to do with the kickdown cable also?

Get a service if you havn't had one recently.
