ok this is for comp work, i have thought of the big red key switch type that your main goes too then out the other side

or can i use like a emergency stop button that runs through my ignition so that my engine etc will shut off if pressed

or should i use the e stop button but going to the coil of a solenoid and having the mains on the contacts? maybe using a winch solenoid?

would prefer the e stop running through my ignition as this is small wiring
so which should be used

most comps require a switch which isolates 12V power to circuits rather than just a switch to stop the motor. depends which comps you are planning to do as to what and how it is isolated. winch comp's usually exclude the winch circuit but must have teh isolation switch within reach of the driver/navi. other comps require all circuits to be isolated and/or switch to be accessible externally.
