fuel economy

I have a 1998 dual cab v6 rodeo 2wd and am getting about 18l/100km around town. This cant be normal so I am going to get it serviced is there anything that is the usually cause of high fuel consumption? By the way I have changed the following- oil, oil filter, air filter and fuel filter.

auto or manual ??
the work ute i had was a 2wd v6 twin cab auto, it used between 14/100 and 16.5/100 depending on use.
clean the airflow meter, throttle body and air bypass valve. usually helps a lot and inproves the driveability and idle.

damn thats bad for a manual, you might even have a buggered o2 sensor, it would pay to get it into a decent workshop with a dyno and see what is really going on, a couple of dyno runs with air/fuel monitoring wont break the bank.
you should be able to get that ute down to 12/100 easy enough.

My 99 dual cab gets around 13-15l/100 ks. About 360 out of a tank

Geeeeeeeeeeezzzzzz im glad ive got a diesel. I get 10L per 100km.

WOW.. I start worrying when i'm getting 10l/100 in the diesel. bout 7.5 normally. go over everything, tyre pressures included.

the type of terrian your in can make a big difference. ie lots of hills courners etc.
also depends on the style of driving you do.
see if you can find a local who has a similar vechile and see what there useage is.

its all good, had a mate clean something and stuff and the tyres were a bit low now im getting about 13

If the O2 sensor was buggered the check engine light should come on
