Need Advise.

Did a Gear box oil change on my GU patrol a few months ago.
Bought a standard type 90 grade gear oil.
the gear shifts when cold are very tight, only happened with the new oil.
have i used the wrong oil ?
What oil is recommended ?

Cheers Grant

i just had my clutch done, and we put 90w penrite oil in, and i have noticed the last few days that until its right up to temp that the gear changes are extremly tight, i might have to go and ask for some 75-90 hehehehehe gota love the freebies!

recently had nissan do 120000 km service. they changed all oils and now gear changes are tight when cold aswell. down shifting almost impossible without doubling the clutch. intested to find out if common problem or are nissan using the wrong gear oil???

Changed my gear oil tonight!
used Castrol 75-90.
Shifts like a dream!
thanks for the replies and advise, i rechecked the old bottle of gear oil i used before and found a had actually put in a 85-140 hypoid (what a Numb nut!) any wonder it was a bastard to shift!
