Going by the questions about the treg and Hummer Bonnets, me thinks he is planning a build-up like this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For the street i prob would not use them. Adrians has a fair bit of movement. It was real tight when we first fitted it but it has since got a bit of movement.
Im about to coil the rear of mine and we are trying to work out another way without spending big $$ but we may end up using this set up. We will see if we can adjust the movement in Adrians first.

cool.its the way to go for sure.mine is already coiled from factory.i just want to set up a a-arm for more travel and its alot easier to lift with this setup.i have a balljoint from a rangerover a-arm setup but these are limited in travel as std.

you can buy an all-steel treg style trailer coupling that has less slop and less wear potential than the poly block genuine Treg couplings - exactly the same principle. a bit expensive from memory though. had one in the shop when I worked at Op Lock, it's probably still there.
when I've thought about using a treg for suspension purposes I've thought I'd bore the poly block a fair whack and fit crush sleeves to an interference fit in the poly block and a slight clearance fit around the pins, drill the pins and fit grease nipples - to move the friction away from the steel/poly interface, to greased steel on steel, to retain the vibration/shock absorbtion advantage of the poly block, without so much wear.
then I think it's just all too hard and just put up with crap suspension *grins*
cheers

i was just seeing what is available to use and i saw this on adrians rig and thought what the hell is this.i guess i could use a johnny joint instead.

Dumbdance, you are talking about an ORAC coupling made by OBriens trailers. I agree, much better than a Treg, as they are only about 2 inches thick as compared to Tregs that are about 6 inches thick. ORACS have a greater horizontal pitch capacity, being capable of greater than 90 degrees either way, up or down, rather than the Treg that has only about 30 degrees up or down.

The treg coupling gets play in the steel pivoting shaft and not in the poly block. This movement is caused by having too much play from the factory and not from wear. I dont think there is any strength issues to worry about.
It would be nice to have crushtubes in the poly block, all we have done is tack welded the bolt that goes through it so that it carnt move.
