I recently bought a winch off a member from this forum under the impression it was working. As it turned out, It was full of water and rusty when i opened it up. Who would be the best people to repair/replace this motor? It is a 24v Thomas winch.

Could also try hargreaves at jindalee.. though doubt if it'd be attractive to em...
Other thought is the motor guy who rebuilds baldor and rockwell servo's at springwood, contact AP Controls for his number... or ask Area54 if he still checks in..

hargreaves will be too dear, if its been under water you will need the gearbox looked at anyway.

The auto elec quoted me $350 for a rebuild. Thats new armature, redo field windings and new brush pack. That sound ok?
