Maybe even turn the ignition key until you hear a loud continuous noise and see if it has less of the "Fosters flop"

my hilux was sitting in the shed for about 3 months when doing my high steer( yes i work slow) and when i finish rolled it out to start wouldnt crank tried jump starting wouldnt take charge got a mate to pull start me , started but then i notived tacho pointing straight down hit the dash and i went to 0 i replaced battery cause it wouldnt take charge on the charger but still points down when when turned off and when running moves to 0

It sounds like the tacho now registers power on, but not engine running.

I'd say dodgy connection(s) on the dash panel.

Maybe it's pointing at 6 oclock, in which case it's broken, and you need a new one
