Hey,

Ive been thinking about puttin air shocks up front in my lux. Only thing is its a daily driver also, how would they go being driven on the road a bit? are air shocks a high maintenance part? If so whats involved in re-building them? Is it something u can knock over in half a day?

Cheers

I wouldn't put them in the front of a daily driver. The rear would be fine as there's not that much weight back there creating body roll. If you're gonna do the front make sure you get the 2.5inch diameter ones which will be easier to setup for the weight of the engine/bar etc.
They are not a high maintenence part, although there's only one or two rigs in Aus that do any road miles on them. Rebuilding them I can't help you there, mine have been gassed and either sitting, or being used for a few months now and I've had to top up the gas once in all four to re adjust ride height, and I will probably have to again soon.

by not not
To rebuild them is not a half a day job its more like half an hour. Literaly.
Once you have the rebuild seal kit (about $40.00 with shroder valve for fox rebuild . Have no idea on race runners) Its pretty much spot on a half hour to do 2. And they come apart very easy but all care must be taken as not to damage the main rod shaft.
As far as driving on the road with them Well im with surfection on that one.

Thanks Guys.

So an alternative to air shock... Coilovers? I have a set to go in the rear, would putting a set of them in the front be better too?
