Looking for some technical information regarding the posibility of fitting

1. V6 gen1 diff into front of a 2.5 ITD
reason- so as to fit a air locker into the front gen1.

2. gen2 rear diff (also from a 2.5itd) into the rear of the gen1.
reason- factory rear diffs available now (cheep on ebay)

My vehicle has this additional info-
1990 model SWB 2.5 ITD Auto.
Has rear drum brakes
diff ratio 4.875

From looking (searching) the diffs are different size spline are the same number though. Dont know if there are differences in track between the 2 generations (axle lenght)

Can either be done?

what additional parts will I need, diff centres, axles, full diff (brake to brake)

Any help here would be appreciated.

Yes it can : -

The front you can use the 8" low pinion that was found in the Gen 1 3.0 V6. You will need the diff, axles, CV's and front propshaft. Check to see if you have the larger V6 front brakes as well (if not you may as well upgrade to these).
It is virtually a bolt up job.

The rear I would use a Gen 2 rear axle assembly with the disc brakes again virtually a bolt in job. But you will need a custom rear propshaft.
The Gen 2 has about 1" wider track overall (0.5" either side) so you will gain some extra stability offroad.
