Outer Limits 4x4 Board

hey folks, I need some help figuring out how to or where to get bump stops for the rear of my spook.

up front I will space out the stock bump stop 1" which will fix the rubbing up front.

but in the rear i had already cut off the stock chassis stop plate to clear the disc caliper bleeder valve. I am thinking of a way to attach a new bump stop to the chassis.

anyone got any pics or links to something similar?

Weld some box of the appropriate size to the undernieth of the chassis in line with where the axel will compress into... Attach you bump stop to the underside of the box. done

But seriously - does the bump stop need to contact with the axel between the u-bolts - i would say not, so the above solution would work a treat wouldn't it?

only thing being greg is that I need bolt-on as I don't have a welder.

Completely Bolt On? Or Drill holes in chassis and then bolt on?

either. I had thought about finding a bump stop that has a plate on it that I could then use with ubolts to hold it to the chassis. unsure.

not even sure where to begin looking for alternate bump stops. anyone got any aussie web links?

That was my idea - it sounds pretty simple really... and you could use the u-bolts to make it into 3/4 at the back too

'nah i got bigger n better plans for the rear suspension.

You could be really clever and put the bump stops on the top of the axel instead - that would mean no changes to the chassis if it was an issue for you...

i could do that. but either way I'm not fussed. might just wait until damo gets here and suss it out then. pretty sure he's not packed his welder into the container so we can go siiiiiiiiick and do whatever then.

something like this would be sweet. just gotta sniff out people who sell these things now.

we'll see what damo brings with him. I only really need to worry about in prep for the Outerlimits LCMP weekend. by which time I also hope to have the full rear suspension setup completed.

just waiting to hear back about a couple of contract jobs. keeping fingers crossed. need something to come my way pretty soon in the job market.
