Is 750 just for the centre or is it complete with electrics? Yes it will fit into your housing no probs. Is this thru a wrecker or private? Do you know the condition of the centre and your front ratio is?

I've known people to pull out the Gen locker and fit ARB due to the weakness of the gen locker... But i don't really know that much about them. Does sound a bit exy to me unless they're shit hot.

I've been known to pull ARB lockers in my FJ40 to fit genuine Toyota lockers, LOL. The weakness in the genuine Toyota diff centre actually applies to the front high pinion 8" centres in the 80 series (same as late 70 series), not the 9.5" low pinion diff centres.
Yes, it is possible to fit a 60 series centre into a 73 MWB rear diff as long as you use the driver side rear axle from the donor. It has longer splines that the locker needs. The length is identical between the 60 and the 70. You also need the two longer studs (part number 90116-10124) that attaches the centre to the housing.
For the front, it depends on the year of the 73. If yours is 1985-89, it will fit but you will need a longer splined inner axle (part number 43412-60060, new about $280 US around here) as the 60 inner axle does not fit the 70/73. You also need the two longer studs as mentioned above.
See if you can have the axle made at an axle shop. It may be cheaper than buying a genuine part.
If your MWB is a 1990 or newer, 60 series diffs will not fit the front.

ok,
it's a 1987 fj73 middy, i work at a 4x4 wreckers and there is about 7 of them around from import 60's halfcuts ( i think their imports anyway) so the condition isn't a problem i'll just find the best one! and they are cable lockers so no electrics.
as for the longer splined inner axle, what did they come in that would fit into the middy.
Thanks

The 60 short axle is the same length as the 73 short axle

For the rear, midi73 is correct. For the front only an inner axle from a 70/73/75 series with a cable locking diff.
